Picked these up the other day, thought they were fascinating and in good shape, found a little info on the producer ( Lemercier & Cie from Paris) but hard to find anything on the pieces themselves.
They are pressed on heavy Japanese Paper, dimensions of the sheets are 54cm X 20cm.
They all have silk protective paper with a Latin description of the piece.

    :hilarious: Thanks, Nick.
They are beautiful. I especially like the Joshua one, the first one you posted, stunning. They are all biblical, by different artists, but you already knew that.:D
What would you like to know? Not that I am an expert, but others may be able to help.:)

Yes i love them all!! I am Curious as to what the medium is here, there is a plate mark( Cuvette) like on an Copperplate Etching, but this is not exactly the same.
Also would like to know how rare these are and when they were pressed, the date is 1899 on all of them, but some etchings are signed and dated 1893 like the Repin depiction of conjuring Anne at the Temple. Any info is always appreciated. :)

I get the "cut up book" feeling from several of these, so that makes me think all of them perhaps.

Yes, they look as if they might be book plates.

They are Rather large though @ 21 1/4'' X 15 3/4'' for a book seems a little big but not impossible.
And i found what the medium is here, Photogravure or also called Heliogravure.

Looking at them though about the cut-up book scenario, seems like they were never bound to a spine, is it possible that they are leftover prints that never got bound in a book?

Look at what's happening to the spine edges of the pages in this book. Now look at some of your pages.

In the pictures you provided, the very first one shows a pronounced curl on the left, but not the right side. Could be a trick of lighting, making proclamations from pictures is always dicey, but several images show similar.

You have the page in hand -- is there a curl?

Even pages from one book can show varying degrees of having been bound -- pages near the center of the book showing less "curl". Much depends on the binding and care of the book.
