    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

Size, please? Looks like a hand-made old storage box... people made them from found/scrap wood. I have a couple sitting around here that hold old dishes or tools.
    Wild guess @1900-1925?

Kingjoker, when you say "large" what exactly do you mean? Could you possibly measure it and give the measurements here?

I'd also like to know the depth of the top (lid) as well as the depth of the bottom of the box.

Is that paper (albeit two different "prints") lining the inside of the top of the box and is it paper lining the inside of the bottom of the box?

Also what are those four(?) lines of "words" on the back of the box.

I only needed the lock to figure the size....
    Which is about 12" x 6" x 6".

At first glance it looks like a "document box" . . . but who knows how large "large" is.

Just curious . . . did a/the key come with it?

Truth be told that was supposed to be 13 not 12 but thank you. :)
I was more wanting to point out that a part could help with such estimates. :)
I know this would be hard to do on a phone.

Most large antique shops should have lots of keys. One shall/should fit. :)
    Note: see keys......buy them! :)

I'm getting an odd feeling about the crackled surface and the way it's put together. I'd like to see the joints. My husband is a locksmith and makes keys for antique furniture and chests all the time by impressioning. We always look for old keys at yard sales and thrift stores.

Looks to be a document or keepsake box to me. Pine with old alligatored varnish. Interior is wallpaper, much of which was silkscreened, stenciled or block-printed on rollers. It is possible that there is hand coloring or embellishment to it. I would think that someone would be able to date the wallpaper pretty precisely. My best guesstimate is late 19th century.

    Hi,
Reminds me of mine but mine has a larger lock for a bit key. Mine has two little boxes that sits on the sides on those rails. I think mine is sitting behind the sofa.
I'll dig it out and photograph it.
