Large Pottery Pitcher - Lava Glaze?

Hello everyone - got a pottery pitcher which I don't quite know how to classify. It stands 13 1/2" tall. I didn't think the glaze was pitted enough to be a lava glaze but I don't know that area of pottery very well. Perhaps drip glaze is a better descriptor. It has a mark but it's indecipherable - almost looks almost more like a formula. The areas that look like glaze loss are actually tan. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Not lava it is flambe glaze. Lava glazes have more texture.

 

There are a couple listed on ebay as Italy Egidio Casagrande Style, but they don't show the bottoms. I would like to at least see "Italy" on the bottom before jumping on that bandwagon.

 

Thanks, trip98 - I like the term "flambe" - sounds much better than "drip"! And thanks, Janet. I explored Egidio Casagrande and it seems he worked mostly, if not entirely, in brass. I couldn't find indication he did work in pottery. But I did find that exact shape in brass so I'm a bit confused.

The mark on the bottom could be a "formula" or recipe for the glaze used, so if it turned out to well, it could be replicated. Studio work is very difficult to ID.
