Featured Large japanese charger, satsuma ?

Hi folks

something i won at local auction yesterday in a job lot.

this was the piece that caught my eye though,

larger than i thought.

nice quite sure what it is, thinking either kutani or satsuma

its a bit to bulky (heavy) for kutani, but the colours look odd for satsuma

think its glazed pottery as well

unsigned but with decorations around base

any thoughts or info appreciated

Based on the clothing, I think it may be Chinese rather than Japanese.

From the back it looks like a large shallow bowl.

 

probably a better description for it yes, sort of in between really

 

Cool! I have never seen a red painted rim around the base like that. Let's hope someone with more info sees this thread.
