Large Folk art metal rooster, how old is it?

How big is it?

Age-wise I think you are looking at less than 50 years, based on color of oxidation etc. I can't see anything to make me think it is older.

 

19 1/2 inches from bottom to the of the head, & 13 inches wide from chest to back of the tail.

 

So nice!

 

I also think fairly new but doubt even 50 years. I would think 90s or later when this kind of stuff started showing up as imports. Prior to that, much of this kind of stuff was artisan made.

 

I saw a bunch of these on my last visit to the local garden store; imports, but I forget from where. Really looked quite nice, very decorative. Similar in size to this one.
I suspect they would start to age very quickly if put outdoors in the rain, and I'd be surprised if this one was older than the 90s.
