    Hey folks!

Bought something very pretty today from a retired military man who is around 70 today and got this milk jug in his 20s from his grandmother. Who knows where and when she got that herself...:) Anyways, here are some photos. Any idea who could be the maker and how old this item is? I just love the pattern (I am a huge Royal Copenhagen fan) and had to get this. Any information would be so appreciated! This jug is way more beautiful in real life. Very heavy and quite large, height approx. 23 cm (9 inches).

    Thaaaaank you!
    Erik

Most of the pieces I've had with this pattern were German and sometimes show up on eBay under the pattern name "Strawflower". Your time frame sounds about right (first quarter of the 20 century - maybe a little earlier). Often found unmarked. There were several companies that made this pattern but I don't know of any way to tell them apart. It's a nice piece with a crisp decoration. Most of the pieces I found were standard place setting pieces so the size and shape of this are unusual (at least in my experience).

We had another item with a similar design recently. No specifics on maker were reached as I recall.

Thank you very much. Very helpful information :)
Found few German makers with very similar marks. Can't be sure though.

It appears like Royal Cophenhagen but it does not have the same style of flower. Also Royal cophenhagen was usually fluted porcelain, if that is the right word.

    Here is Royal Copenhagen

There is another 'german' company called Koenigszelt that date to early 20th Century. There is also a factory in Poland where these are made.

The factory in Jaworzyna Śląska was established in 1860, in the 20th century it was known as Porzellanfabrik Koenigszelt AG . A very dynamically developing manufacture followed the trends on an ongoing basis and modernized its production. The most popular tableware patterns were rococo Charlotte and Regina, cobalt onion pattern or tracing paper with patterns of dry flowers. Later, the decorations referred to fashionable oriental patterns.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

It appears that you've found a close match to your piece. It is beautiful, by the way!

This link includes an article about the general "everlasting flower pattern" of which the strawflower pattern is one. I'm not knowledgeable about it, but liked to read the general background. Based on the URL, I think this may have been translated from German. https://second.wiki/wiki/strohblumenmuster
