Octoberama was some kind of event? What is the volunteer about?

Volunteer and the numbers is probably an old style phone number. Back when, the "exchange" was identified with a word, although you only dialed the numbers associated with the first 2 letters of same.

I think Octoberama is just the title.

Since there is no area code for the phone number, the card was printed before area codes were introduced. Final implementation in the US was 1966 after a gradual phase in beginning in 1946 - big cities first. I have to wonder how old she would have to be now even if this was printed in the 60's. Definitely an unusual name, though.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I think that she might be... one of those sites that gives personal information has a person with her name in that town. I'm not linking to that here because I feel these sites can be invading people's privacy. Also, it might be a different person with the same name!

There is also the fact that there is no ZIP code - wasn't that 1962 or '63?
The person that has the gallery could be a daughter, or a niece.
But you could give them a call.
    I do like the painting.

Actually they are SearleS. What associated name is supposed to mean in this case?

Jocelyn C Searles was born in New Bedford Massachusetts and was raised in the house my parents bought from her father Edmund Searles. The Searles family had a farm in Maine. We have an oil painting titled Down in Maine signed by her done August 1941 and she has it priced for $20 including the frame
