Kutani teapot

One last post and I will leave you alone (until tomorrow)

Here is a kutani teapot. I also have the creamer, sugar, 7 cups, 8 saucers and 9 side plates. A bit too much for a full photo shoot. Any ideas on the pottery please?

 

Ideas? of what kind?

Kutani is made of porcelain not pottery.

 

Looks like the mark of Kutani Sei.
Probably early 20th century 1910-1920

Never said it was. Pottery as in kiln. I.e any idea of the manufacturer.

I think it's just a generic kutani mark 'made in kutani'

 

You weren't clear, and 'pottery' is generally used for a type of ceramic, rather than for a manufacturer. Bakers was being helpful.

But you probably mean that Sei also indicates the period it was used in.
