Hi all. Picked this up recently and was surprised at its seeming quality. Its very light, and a gorgeous color. Its 3 inches high,7 wide, and theres a mark but I can barely see it.Any and all input is appreciated.

I'm sure Aquitaine can do 100X better but here's an attempt to isolate /enhance the mark...there's a reflection of your lighting right in the middle of it.

Hi johnny, I've got a couple of Filters that I added to Photoshop some time ago.... sometimes they help pull more out of an image....and sometimes not.....here's what I got.....I hope it tells YOU a whole lot MORE than it tells ME!!!:happy::happy:
Sorry I couldn't get the horizontal lines at the bottom clearer.......

Zjohnnycb09.jpg You have to turn it around, it seems to be a Japanese mark. I cannot read the forst character, but the second and third are "山窯", which means " -zan kiln". So you know that the name of the maker ends with -zan. Unfortunately there are many many potters with their name having such an ending.

    Maybe "庫山窯", "Kozan kiln"...

Thanks Mat. I spent hours last night trying to match it,no luck so far but I appreciate it very much. Is there ANYTHING more maddening to research than Asian marks ????
