Koi Fish Stone Carving

It’s hard to scratch but not sure if nephrite or more like serpentine.

    Probably neither, but I can't think of a stone right now.
    It is not a koi btw, it is a goldfish variety called 'telescope', because of the bulging eyes. Some telescope goldfish have tails like veiltail goldfish, like this one has.

    I'm getting a Mexican 'onyx' vibe from both stone & carving.

    It has a soapy feel rather than glassy. Not really convinced about being onyx. Also would think more of Asian than Mexican.

    Close. It does have that occasional irisation of labradorite, but much less obvious, and sometimes hardly present at all.
