Keywords for this silver ring

Sorry for the lack of polishing, but gives you an idea. The ring tests as sterling, almost wondering if that center part might be gold? Is the gold part a symbol for something? Just trying to find similar to get some keywords. Thanks for taking a look.

Kind of interesting texture inside the ring:

 

Homemade,sloppy soldering of the "gold" insert and professionals usually don't make that much of a mess with a ball burr on the inside of the ring.

Why would there be this texture inside? Just part of the design or is it some part of construction?

 

it was just a thing to do.....I've seen rings like that from the 70's..
