I found this tin penny toy yesterday. Pull the string, and he tips his hat! Now, I’ve been doing some research on it but have run into conflicting info about when it would have been made; one source says 1915, while others say the 1930’s or 1940’s. Interestingly, none say the 1920’s, which would have been my guess. I’m sure there will be someone here who knows all about it, so I would be grateful if you would settle this question. Also, there’s a pin on the back. Was this toy intended to be worn, like a brooch or lapel pin? Just curious...
