I'm wondering what everyone thinks of this painting. Is it more vintage tourist-y kitsch with a bad frame? Or is it an interesting original oil painting worth more than the $20 I paid?

I have not been able to find any info on the signature, 'Berantace.'

    Canvas itself measures 10" x 20".

    Thank you as always!

The frame is 1970s, isn't a "bad frame" just vintage, fits perfectly with the kachina painting, so I am sure it's original 1970s. I am not familiar with the artist, but whether it is "made for tourism" kind of piece or not, I cannot say.

I will say that MANY of the Indian artist painters - do not paint very exactingly. Pencil lines often show through, paint is not always perfect. This one appears to have been painted in this fashion.

The first letter of the signature does not look like a B to me.

    Maybe an 'S' if not a 'B'?
