Jewelry sellers, where do you get boxes?

Small little cardboard boxes for shipping, or little jewelry display boxes.
I see some on eBay. Is that where you get them?, or do you know of any stores that carry them?
I used to get 3 in a pack at dollar tree, but they don't have them anymore. I asked at Walmart and they don't sell theirs out of the jewelry dept.
I'd like to just go buy some somewhere, if possible.

I searched my area and all I find are jewelry stores. I don't know if they sell them. I guess I'd just have to call them individually and ask.
Or, just get them on eBay

I used to get mine at a big paper place here in Denver (Expedx?), but they stopped carrying many of the sizes, and the ones they did, got soooo expensive it was cheaper to buy them on eBay.

 

Jewellery findings suppliers. Findings are the bit jewellers use to make and repair jewellery, and they also sell the odds and ends that go with them like boxes. Maybe they use some other description in the US.
Every now and again I get a carrier bag fullof boxes of all sorts from a chap who combs the car boot sales and small auctions for stuff to scrap and he saves me the boxes.

Bead store & craft stores usually carry little boxes

 

Lol, Trip! I read your post a little while ago, and had to head out the door to take my son to get a haircut. As we were walking in I noticed a bead and baubles little downtown store right next to the hair place. I've been here at least a hundred times and never noticed the store.
Anyway I remembered your post and went in. Yes, they had some nice pretty purple boxes, and sold me some! Thanks Trip I never would have gone in there if not for your post.

The scrap buyers have tons of real jewelry boxes. They used to sell sort of well in lots at local auctions. Lately they've been going cheap at the auctions. I usually get 25-30 for $10 or less.

I've been wrapping them in a layer of small bubble and enclosing in a poly mailer. Usually still stay under 3 ounces.

The neighbor lady works where they assemble machines. She brings hundred of boxes from the tiny parts they use.

 

On-line is a the way to go for best price and bulk unless you have a local commercial packing supply place that sells popcorn, boxes, bubblewrap, ect.
For a the few you need fast, I have bought from the local bead and crafts stores. "The Container Store" chain has them but they are way over priced.

I only bought 6 @ .50 cents a piece from there. Just figured I would buy more online, which it looks like I can get them for roughly .30 cents a piece if I do that. Every little bit helps, especially with all the other fees we endure .
But it's nice to know if I ever need any more, they are right down the street.

Looks like a good site, desperate_fun -- I'm not in the market for boxes, but will look around the see what else they have.

 

Tyeldom, since you reference dollar tree in your OP, I'm assuming you have one close by - look in the kitchen wares department, and they have little plastic boxes with lids that will fit most earrings and brooches (nice and sturdy for shipping too).

I'd say they are roughly 2" square, and you get 10 for a buck! Here's a pick of them. You can also buy them online at the dollar tree website, but you have to buy them in bulk if you do.
