I have a gold band that my father found 54 years ago while metal detecting at the Casa Munra's resort in Monterey, CA. it was around 15" deep in hard pan soil, it had been there for many years. The Munra's family were very influential people involved in multiple Spanish Land Grants in the 1800's. The gold band has the initials RM engraved in it as well as a hallmark that is a ( l 4 l ) is there a way to find out what the hallmark means?
    Thank you,
    Dennis Stanley

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Welcome to Antiquers, @Dennis Stanley -- We will need pictures in order to give the most help. And starting a new thread with the photos included would be the best.

(I had missed Bronwen's original post, and was glad to find it through resurrection!)

I think the mod edited to remove Dennis's phone number (which was also removed from the other identical post.) Dennis posted here first and then started his own thread.

I know. It happens all the time that I think I've thoroughly reviewed posts from time period I was off the site, only to find something a week or more later that I completely missed.

Ahh. Makes sense. Post adds a mark we haven't IDed to the collection.
