Thinking about buying this tomorrow, not a print but more a lithograph. Figured I'd toss it in and see what you all say, thx.. jj.jpg

Are you assuming it's old or modern?

Old as the image isn't pixelated but more along the line of a lithograph. Would be cool as it would be a new image of him.

What were you told about it? Images of Jesse James were/are widely reproduced. The distressed frame would lead one to believe that it's a decorative piece and not art. Along with the fact that there's no artist's signature and the paper appears to have been artificially aged.

It looks like woodblock print on paper on cardboard measuring 16-15/16"H x 11"W. Any help as to what reproduction method was used to make it would be greatly appreciated. jj1.jpg jj2.jpg jj3.jpg jj4.jpg jj5.jpg

I doubt any connection to "woodblock." Looks like a photograph reproduced in a newspaper. Photogravure?

You can see a photomechanical pattern to the right of his chin:

A Photoshop filter could easily do that to a photo.

My point is that such halftone processes were not in use until the late 1880s/early 1890s, after Jesse James was dead. So the op's image cannot be an original 19th century printing. Most likely a later decorative reproduction.
