:wideyed: Good idea to hang on to it!

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I wonder whether it would have brought even more if it hadn't served as a goalpost for all those years?

Over the years his children kicked footballs at it in their dining room, as thanks to its long thin stand it measured up at 5ft tall, making it a perfect goalpost.

Not necessarily a good idea to hang onto it, though good that it worked out in this case. One of the highest valued AR 'finds' was a collection of Rhino horn carvings. That owner hung onto them, and by the time he listed them there were so many restrictions on Rhino horn that they sold for a fraction of their valuation - some didn't sell at all.

There's also the question of changing tastes. How often have you heard an appraiser say that ten years ago an item would have sold for twice as much?
