2 pieces of framed wood art which I believe to be Japanese in origin. Not what I would call wood inlay as the pieces are actually raised approximately 3/4" off of the backing. Is there sa specific name for this type of art? Any idea of time period or what the symbols in the second piece read.

These measure 15 1/4" by 11 3/8", not including the frames. The first one looks like a simple winter landscape scene. And in my opinion the second one is a representation of Eve with the Serpent. Any help is appreciated.

    A google search produced this

    Intarsia
is a woodworking technique that uses varied shapes, sizes, and species of wood fitted together to create a mosaic-like picture with an illusion of depth. ... After selecting the specific woods to be used within the pattern, each piece is then individually cut, shaped, and finished.

They look more Eastern European to me. Think Dacha. Maybe sliced walnut shells for the frame.
