    Hey folks!

In need of your help. Purchased these gorgeous tea cups today, but can not find anything on the mark. Any idea what this could be and what period?

Thank you so much in advance!

The top line is 'Great Japan', then the center character ク and 谷製 read Kutani made. The final character, lower right, I'm not sure of, or how it fits in yet , possibly a makers mark, I will look a bit further

As it uses 'Great Japan' they are likely pre WW2 as it was a nationalistic expression they dropped following WW2. I don't have this mark in my database so would be pleased to add it if you don't mind me using your picture.

Update, so it can be read as Kutani made or Made in Kumagaya depending on which way you read it. Kumagaya is a city North East of Tokyo on the main island. Possibly a factory in Kumagaya claiming Kutani heritage or similar. Date holds true still, probably 1910-20's in period.

I found a couple of examples with this mark on Japanese language auction websites, they were quite different in style, the dates were given as inter-war.
