Japanese Porcelain Plate

    Appears to be recent. A bit different in decoration. Wonder what's the deal with the image and the writings?

    My first thought is that the "face" is representative of a "theatre"/drama mask or a Kabuki mask.

    Others will be chiming in I'm sure, and thank goodness because you probably can't take my "first thought" to the bank.;)

    I agree that the face looks like a theatrical or performance mask. And I love the colors and the sort of muted look.

    This will bump the post up a little bit...
