Japanese or western vase

    Discussion of this vase was smothered by intense discussion about a pipe in another thread so here it is again with better photos.:rolleyes:
    It was listed as Sumida Gawa vase but the best I would dare describe it is Sumida Gawa style as there are other similar ones described so. Doesn't mean they are right though.
    It has a number (8619) on the bottom so possibly western origin. Any ideas??

    Just noticed another number on the bottom in the middle (37).

    Data 19.5cm High 11.4cm Diameter 0.28Kg

    I know nothing about it, but love the decoration on the vase!
