A pair of framed Japanese (?) pictures and text. I have no idea what they might be.

My guess would be Chinese, first half of the 20th C., ink and color on paper (hard to really tell from the images). The black lacquer frames appear to be original.

First image appears to be a funeral procession. Note, most of the figures are wearing white.

Sorry I can't help more nor translate the inscriptions.

In the Judge Dee books, there are some illustrations of the judge holding court. This looks like men coming before a judge or other figure of authority. I can't quite see the figure inside the house. Is that a music stand or a book stand?

The scenes in both pictures are Japanese.

Certainly Japanese. The second one is 清和天皇讀書 Emperor Seiwa Studying.

Others will have to tell you more.

    Thanks for that title, khl.

Worth hanging on the wall or back to the shed with them?

Are they disbound pages from an old book?
