Japanese glassware

Does anyone know what these were used for?

 

Welcome, Amy. It would help to know dimensions on these and how much liquid they hold. Why did you say Japanese? Glassware like this most often comes from eastern Europe.

 

I assumed they were Japanese because my mom told me they were from there. My Grandpa brought them back while in the Navy. I think you are correct, maybe not actually Japanese at all.
Now looking at it more closely there appears to be a grape design. There are They are 4 and half inches tall and hold a quarter cup of liquid if filled to the top.

 

I would google German or Poland cut to clear wine hocks.

 

I'd have thought Czech if the quality is good, but central European anyway. They might have been purchase in Japan in a PX. Stuff travels.

 

Bohemian flashed cut to clear hock shape glasses, but meant for sliwowitz or similar.
