    Hi there,

I am hoping that someone can give me some clues in identifying a teacup set from my late grandmother.

I am having trouble working out exactly what the maker's mark depicts, and I can't seem to find the design number anywhere - 5065.

It appears to be a cherry blossom design on a mother of pearl type glaze with gold trim.

    Welcome CaffeinatedTech
I think that is one of the Mark's for Nagoya Shokai.
That particular mark dates are 1960s to 1980s.
    Give or take,a few years

Primulas do seem more likely... I don't see cherry blossoms at all. I agree with the 1960s-80s dating.
It does appear to have a luster or pearlescent type of finish.
Are you looking to find more? These are the type of things frequently donated to charities, they show up often in my local large suburban thrift stores. You may have luck there.

I wasn't looking for more, or to sell. We were more interested in the origin. We believe that they belonged to my grandmother's mother who died 30 years ago.

You are right, they don't look like cherry blossom at all really.
