Japanese Dish 5" Square ID, Age?

    This was on the mark down table at a small thrift. Japanese Dish is 5" Square - 1" high. Also, heavy and has an unusual finish on back. What would it be used for, is it recent, and does the type finish on the bottom have a name.

    Looks like a modern interpretation of Imari ware.

    Thanks to both of you. The only reason that I looked twice at it was the way the back was finished. I never saw that before.
