Featured Japanese carved stone box

hi all, last one i promise

something else i found in a charity shop yesterday, quite sweet

not sure what stone it is, its a hardstone,, few chips

something signed in japanese on the inside

would be great to know what its says

any info on stone type, age etc very much appreciated

 

hard to pass that up.......
the carving looks newer in style...
