Japanese? Carved Lacquered Wood Plate, Signed

    It is ~21cm in diameter, ~8mm thick; it weighs ~15gm.
    The signature block is ~16mm square.
    I think I've seen similar pieces ascribed to a specific place, or prefecture (if it is Japanese). Do any of you have a feel for where it originated, an' when? Can that signature be read? As always, thanks for lookin'!
