AC8AFFDA-C001-45F7-BB69-CB258A0E4987.jpeg I inherited this piece from my family. It’s beautiful but I’m not sure whether it’s real or not. It’s got a stamp of WW or MM. it says it’s from Hong Kong and 14kt gold. Have you ever seen something like this? Or know more about Jade/Jadeite than I do? Which is pretty easy. Hahah.
    thanks Jen

I agree, jade is the most likely candidate.

Thank you for the replies. The bracelet was definitely never worn. I also have a reddish/orange one exact same as the green one with the gold clasp and balls in between.

If anyone knows, what is usually the best place to sell genuine jade bracelets?
    Have a great Easter weekend.

Late to the party, but it looks right to me too. I see this type of bracelet come through the auctions in the UK regularly, they tend to fetch around £60-100. There are two types of Jade, Nephrite and Jadeite, the green beads could be either given the colour. Jadeite is more valuable, so if you sell at auction and the auctioneer can determine which type it is that can be helpful. The orange beads are probably dyed jade, price range is pretty much the same.

Could be dyed jade, but not necessarily. Jade comes in many colours, including this orangey brown. They could also be carnelian, another favourite of the Chinese.

I'd taken it as the OP already established they were jade from the inheritance, but you are quite right, if the stone is unknown they could well be carnelian instead. Regarding the colour I've only seen natural orange jade in higher quality settings as it tends to be pretty expensive. I have seen plenty of dyed beads in this type of setting though, my money would be on dyed nephrite, but never say never!

We can only guess based on a photo, it would be best to have them both tested, then you will know what you have :)

Thanks again for the amazing replies. Where is the best place to get them tested? A jeweler? Or a gemologist? ;);)

Someone who knows what jade is, which the average mall jeweller won't. Do you have a local Chinatown?

My guess would be Carnelian for the orange beads.

My initial thought too, and still is.
I hadn't even thought of jade until Ce brought it up, but he is right, that is a possibility.
