    I have a Czech filigree brooch with 340 marked underneath, does this mean it's silver? Thanks for any info

    Welcome, Gillian.
    340 is not a silver mark. It could be a manufacturer's code for the model.
    If it looks like silver, it could be silver plated, which wouldn't have a specific mark.

    Thank you. It's as I thought but needed confirmation as I saw a similar one on a well known auction site being sold by a seller I've bought from before. When I saw the description of 340 being a silver mark I asked if they could give me the link to where they found the info to back this up and my message disappeared?! Many thanks for your input.
