It May be a Toothpick Holder, but I'm Not Convinced

1½" diameter at the rim, 1⅜" at the foot, 2⅛" tall. The bottom is the only unglazed portion. The mark is underglaze.

It's the right size & shape, but those piercings seem out of place for a toothpick. I just dunno.

Can anyone read the mark? Thanks for lookin'!

Toothpick Holder ! That Genghis Khan's 'Chopper Hopper'. If you're as old as me you remember what those were. Seriously Whittier-I wish to heck I knew my rear from a rock when it comes to Chinese & Japanese Chops & Signatures.Next to original signed art,the $ these Asian pieces bring could put the next 5 generations of yr Grand-kids thru school.

I have seen small Blanc de Chine reticulated brush pots that were cylindrical like this.

    But...pierced?

Google image search wasn't much help with this piece.

Yes, I have seen them reticulated/pierced.....there is room at the bottom for wash. Could also be potpourri I guess but it is quite small for that.....
