Is this the right place for me?

    Hello folks,
Thanks for the welcome. I would like some advice. I am mainly interested in European pottery - anywhere between the 17 hundreds up to studio pottery and mid century European ceramics. Can this forum help in identifying any pieces - or should it be better for me to contact other forums (20thcentury, placedelours ...)? Thanks.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Welcome to Antiquers, @Lacto . You could take a look at the Pottery, Glass, and Porcelain forum on this site, do a search of some key words that occur to you, and see what you think. You could also start a thread in that forum with one of your questions, and see what happens. Generally, you should post photos of the item(s) along with your query. There are several threads in the Support & Testing forum that describe how to post photos, if you should run into any issues. Photos need to be under 1Mb, I believe.

The members here come from a wide variety of countries and collect lots of different things. There are quite a few people from European countries here, and also some that collect European pottery. That is not my area, and I have never thought about the answer to your question.

Greetings! You'll fit right in. A lot of us are Americans and don't get to see the European bits. But we want to, and a lot of us go digging information for fun.

Many of the potties have passed but you likely still find more here than anywhere else

Hi and welcome! You may find help here but at least people do try.

My main interest in collecting has been ceramics, much of it 18th C English, Dutch and German earthenware and stoneware. I'm not actively collecting but do have a fair library of books about some of what I've been interested in so happy to share info if I can. (I'm not even close to an expert in anything.)
