Is this supposed to be a metal lamp shade?

    I think so...and I also envision it holding slag glass pieces secured on those "ledges".
    It is very cool, regardless of what you choose to see it as or do with it!

    Just my 2 cents - the center hole is so small. Most lamp bracket castings have 3/8" or 1/2" cast holes to be tapped for threaded rod? Have at it................. And those tapped holes on the lugs on the outside of the ring are to be threaded onto what???
    Seems to me it was "screwed" to another piece for some reason.
