Is this rose wood?

    Its a nice bar stool, that I think is madfde out of rosewood. Please prove me wrong!

    Do you have any idea which wood is it? Oak?

    Possibly beech, more likely one of the imported East Asian hardwoods of which there are many with that appearance.

    Agree with AF. Not rosewood. Possibly beech, birch, or maple with a stain in it. Otherwise, some sort of imported hardwood.

    Maple is a good bet.

    In North America, certainly, but it is not seen much in Europe. Most maples (Acer spp.) are imported cultivars for decorative planting, and of course the common sycamore which is not highly regarded as timber.

    Yes, not rosewood....other than that, wood ID from photos is not always easy....impossible to photograph the refractive qualities that help ID maple, for instance. I'd think beech or birch is a good guess, doesn't really look like a tropical wood to me.
