It doesn't look like howlite or magnesite. Or could it be something else? The only marking is 925 on the clasp. thumbnail_IMG_20211030_121316.jpg thumbnail_IMG_20211030_121303.jpg

I am surprised you have not had a reply to this. We often get into discussions of turquoise/not turquoise. Are you asking about the pendant only or the beads as well? The knowledgeable people are going to want better lit photos of both sides of the pendant. We need as much photographic information as we can get.

Really don't know why this thread has been overlooked by other jewellery regulars. I'll try calling out again: @kyratango @Any Jewelry @Ownedbybear @Hollyblue

Meanwhile, my non-expert but not completely uninformed opinion is that the pendant is turquoise & the beads are probably not. It's very difficult to assess the beads from photos.

Really can't tell if turquoise is natural, stabilized or man made. The pieces appear to be glued together and glued into the pendant.

Flattered to be included with that group. I don't have the knowledge to pronounce. But, frankly, I'm a bit surprised it's marked as silver. Doesn't look to be of the highest quality. 1970s to my eye, from the length and clasp.

It is an attractive necklace, one of those that will always look elegant, with that teardrop pendant.
The heishi/tube beads are either reconstituted turquoise or block turquoise, which isn't necessarily turquoise.
The pendant could be reconstituted turquoise too. Those swirly patches in the stone don't look to me like something Mother Nature would make.
The bail ring is soldered to one side, does the pendant hang vertically or a bit askew?

Thank you all, I will list it as Turquoise effect I think, and mention in the description it is possibly reconstituted turquoise but I'm not sure. I found it on a local tabletop sale stall and paid next to nothing for it so I don't mind it not being turquoise

The pendant hangs vertically, the loop is slightly off centre but it doesn't notice when worn.

It is attractive. Would work well alone or when massed with ours.

Or may be as Turquoise with a question mark. The style of the pendant is Modernist, so you could add that. And Southwestern.
    Oh good.:)

I'm sure there is a buyer for it somewhere, it really is an attractive piece.
