The carving is too 'clean'--- there's no scratches, chips, dings, or breaks on something that's 500+ years old and that somehow got from Mexico to you? That seems unlikely.

You'll note that the one in the picture you posted is less than 4 cm tall. On something the size of yours, I'd expect a higher degree of carving and detail.

And these kinds of souvenirs are popular and while perhaps not common, they're certainly not rare like a Olmec jade.
