Is this just a vintage votive?

Guessing 50's - 60's
It has pretty applied rhinestones and faux pearls
pretty detailed trim
It is spelter, Italian?
any clues?

 

With all the rhinestones and faux pearls, I wouldn't think votive, but perhaps to hold some longish things on a dresser top?

 

Is that a leather something on top there? What would that be for? I'd agree - probably part of a dresser set. The only thing I had that was glass with brass mounts was French. But that doesn't mean much.

 

Have you checked Florenza? I think that is the name of the company that made many of the sets in the 1960s.

But you know, all those rhinestones and faux pearls don't quite fit with 1960s. Toooo much glitz. And the shape isn't right for the time period. Think vanity mirrors, perfumes, lipsticks, hairspray. Straight lines.

I'm thinking later 1980s-90s.
In which case it may indeed be a votive. Shape would be right.

Just my thoughts, I have been wrong before.

 

I still think a votive candle would be unhealthy for all those rhinestones etc..

 

Well I'm still asking... what is that large brown thing between the 2 globular stones?

 

Some kind of faux brown stone.

 

Actually, that was poorly written.
The color is real, but the "stone" is not.

What I meant was; Some kind of brown, faux, stone.
