I picked up this ring for a dollar. Only marked 925. But i was wondering if this stone is green turquoise?
It also looks like some called Navajo? But maybe not.

The stone looks glued, and the style is all wrong for Navajo. Chinese "chalk turquoise" and a Thai setting is my guess.

Yes, that colour silver is used in Thai fakes. The rope twist design and the granules on either side of the stone are not nicely defined, as on Navajo work.
The subtle differences in the colour of silver is something not many people notice, but it is worth studying it if you want to invest or buy to sell. It can be difficult, even experts are fooled sometimes, but it is often recognizable, which helps in asessing jewellery. And good work(wo)manship is important.
    The stone could be Variscite:

I'd agree with AnyJewelry. Some types of turquoise can be quite green, but this doesn't look like turquoise to me. I've also heard that blue turquoise can become greener if worn where it can absorb skin oils.
A good way to learn about such things, and how to distinguish real from fake, and good from bad, would be to visit a reputable shop or gallery carrying SW jewelry; or if there happens to be a museum exhibit of SW jewelry.
(A few years back the Vancouver Art Gallery had an exhibit featuring both Northwest Coast and SW native jewelry; two subjects that are not often featured together. Not only was it astonishing to see the quality of the best contemporary artists from both worlds, but in spite of the very different styles, the artists approached their subject in very much the same way.
Written and recorded statements from the artists of both areas showed the same concerns with cultural integrity, the interplay of tradition versus innovation, and the transmission of skills from one generation to the next.)

I remember, I arrived in Vancouver just after it had finished. If only I had known.:banghead:
