Is this bronzed copper and what kind of bird is it?

Hi, I have no clue about this sort of thing. It looks like bronze but the bottom looks like copper with the bronze color a little around the edges. Nobody is quite sure what kind of bird it is though a few have said Heron. It is not marked in any way. It stands about 7 1/8" tall and is quite heavy for being hollow. Thanks in advance for any help or ideas.

 

If this is a North American bird, I would say it's a Crane. That based on the attached. Note the way the neck flows into the body and lower wing position.

To me, the statue looks fairly modern.

Yes, it certainly does look like a crane. I actually like the unfinished patina on the bottom more that the bronze/bronzed surface on the bird. Thanks for the help.

 

Looks like cast brass to me, I don't see any copper, BWDIK

 

The greenies are artificial to me.
