Is this bronze plaque by Victor David Brenner or a repro?

Hi all, picked up this bronze plaque recently at an auction. My research has told me that the design was for a medal called "La Terre", originally 76.1mm long, made in 1917. My plaque is just shy of 7" long. The interesting thing is that it does have what looks like Brenner's monogram, or at least similar (I attached a snip that came from Numismatic Bibliomania Society's photostream, originally from D.Wayne Johnson's book "Monograms of American Coin and Medal Artists). Do you think it is by Victor D Brenner or some kind of repro? My research has hit a bit of a dead end. All info or feedback welcome, thank you!!

Never seen his monogram before so can't help.

The only thing I've seen with reference to his initials is on the 1909 S VDB Wheat Cent

I can't think why it shouldn't be his artwork, so it is 'by' him in that way. He was not responsible for striking the medallions, so not 'by' him in that meaning. I'm not really sure what your concern is.

Thanks for bringing to light the name & signature of another cameo cutter. ;:

I guess I just haven't been able to find similar really and I think his work has been copied alot, especially the Lincoln pieces. Glad to have brought him to light :)

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

I think it does look 'pretty' close, but hard for me to tell!!
