    Hello everybody,

This is my first post on this forum. And probably not the last,
because I have more items I'm not sure about.

I started buying antiques for like 7 months now,
totally unexperienced, and with zero knowledge.

I really hope somebody can help me with this.

I think it's an cloisonne or inkwell. (Or is this just enamelled?)
No idea about it's origine or age, metal might be bronze.

    Thanks in advance!

Yes, it is a cloisonne inkwell. Or at least it looks like it. The tray out front is for pen-nibs, pen-holders, etc. I assume this is made of brass or something, because if it was iron, the ink would've eaten through it with rust by now, if it was ever used.

Thank you both for your reply!

I think indeed it's the champleve enamel.
    French Bronze.. Could be :)

Any ideas about the age of it?

Hope you don't mind, but I messed with your photos a bit in order to see the detail better.

A bit late. I was so busy. I made a couple of new pictures.

And.... I noticed, in the bottom it has stamped "E.M."
After googling a while I found out this is. E.M. Paris.

Unfortunately I can't find much about this maker or company.
Does anyone know more about it?

    Thank you!
