    Hi all!

I'm new to antique furniture and found this chair. How can I tell if it is in fact an antique? If it is one, how do I figure out the year?

I'm so clueless when it comes to this! I tried to see if there were an identifiers underneath but it doesn't look like it. The chair is heavy and extremely short. The legs are only about 7 inches off the ground -- does this mean it's a child's chair?

As you can tell I'm completely lost! Even if you could point me in the right direction, that would be amazing!

Thank you a million! I appreciate any sort of response.

I would call that a nursing chair, early 1900`s and its been reupholstered.

Bit high for a nursing chair, I think, and those normally have arms and a better back. Bedroom or boudoir chair, could be a bit earlier than the 1900s, maybe 1870 plus. Missing its castors.

I'm with Owned on this. Last quarter of the 19th century. You don't see a lot of these since, being mostly upholstered, they tended to get tossed rather than refurbished.
