    Hi,
I have a Westinghouse electric percolator measures about 7" at widest part between the handles in length x around 11" high without the percolator x nearly 5 1/2" at widest part width without the spout in width. With spout add approximately 3 1/8" to the width
    1. Is this a tea pot or a coffee pot
    2. What decade do you think this is from
    3. Will cleaning devalue it
    4. What is the spacing or distance of the prongs as shown in the last picture so I can figure out power cord I will need to buy?
Thank you thank you thank you for your advice.

Only the damn colonials would imagine one can "perk" tea. ;)

Owned, this reminds me of my DH's late, Scottish grandmother. To her, improperly made tea was simply "polluted water", as in: "If I wanted polluted water, I'd use tea bags."

My mother taught me to warm the tea pot with boing water, drain it, put in the tea and bring the pot to the boing water. She grew up in Philadelphia PA, daughter of an Irish mother, and I have always made tea her way :)

Hopefully I am not a Philistine!

Now I am wondering how percolated tea would taste.

I've sold enough teapots, and considering how dirty many were, I guess there are a lot of people who believe you should never clean the inside of a teapot. I always cleaned them before selling... let the buyer start afresh. Some of them took a lot of effort.

Marie, that's pretty close to proper! ;)

I do like polluted water.Very accurate.

My favourite pot is a sixties Old Hall stainless steel one. It does go in the dishwasher every so often.

This is it: image of one on Ebay. Perfect fat shape to let the tea brew.
