    Welcome Gailybird.
Your chair is not Tudor period, if that is what you mean.:) Probably late 19th - early 20th century, but the real furniture people will be along later and give a better answer.
They will want to see more detail, construction, carving.

    Here it is full image:

Late 19th to early 20th century dining chair. See you have at least 2 of them. How many did you get? Looks like they are probably walnut.

Do you think they are English?

Could be, but just as likely American. Where did you find them?

I thought Tudor style only because of the rose on them. Is it not a Tudor rose do you think?

Rose motifs have been very popular throughout history.
A Tudor rose is a double rose, symbolizing the two houses of Lancaster and York.

Since found in Australia, English is a better bet than American. Coming from France, then, who Knows? Suppose they could be Continental. I guess that is sort of a Tudor rose but would not draw any conclusions from it.

Late 19th into early 20th boudoir or occasional chair. That whole Victorian sort of Gothic Revival thing, later got called Tudorbethan. ;)

Probably British. I suspect stained oak.
