We found this at an Estate sale in Los Angeles. There are two of them. They are each about 2 inches by 1 inch. We think maybe be a salt cellar but wondering about the small hole on the side, frosted on the inside.
Thanks in advance for all ideas! IMG_0670.JPG IMG_0671.JPG IMG_0672.JPG

    Hi,
Reminds me of and individual ash tray. The hole was for "snubbing" the cigarette out.

Hola, and welcome to the Forums, 555. That thing is so dainty and cute it makes me want to smoke. Or rest a spoon. Whatever. :)

There is no slot for a cigarette, and there usually was one.

at 2 x 1 inch...the ashes would be all over the place....& as Messi says...there's no where to rest the ciggy.

Is there any reason a candle holder would ever have a bowl attached?

too small for a candle holder.....it's also unbalanced and the candle might fall and set the house on fire killing everyone in a horrible fashion........

That thing acually sat as a salt in a sort of glass frame. Let me see if I can find an image.
