Is this a Murano Kitty?

    I picked this cat up at an antique mall. He stands a little under 7" tall and about 6" from nose to tail. I think it might have been meant as an ashtray. Any help identifying him would be appreciated. I posted him on the Murano glass forum but got no information. Thank you.

    I think the sommerso foil supports Murano, but others may disagree. Looks like the same class of things as all those glass clowns.

    My guess would be "yes". It also reminds me of those vintage Italian glass clowns. Cute!

    Probably Italian, possibly made on MUrano. Those things are still being made, so it's a pig to date.
