Is this a glass lamp globe? A dish? Help please.

This thing is 7 1/2" across the top. It is made of very thin molded glass. It seems too thin to be used for a dish, but there are no marks around the rim indicating it was ever used for a globe either, plus it's flat and white on the bottom. Any ideas?

I don't see how this could be a lamp globe.

I think what you have is a master berry bowl.
    Painted milk glass.
    Could be American or European.
American companies that did this type work Fostoria, Gillander, Dirthridge to name a few.
    1880s to 1910

Thank you cluttered closet. It's just that it's so thin - and I don't mean in a good way if you know what I mean.

    I could be wrong.

However, if it were the font to an oil lamp, it would need a ring ridge for the metal that held the burner. Also the shape seems wrong.

The thinness would be appropriate for the late 1880s.
    Again, I could be wrong.

Its a berry bowl, made by the Buckeye Glass Co. of Martins Ferry, ohio, ca. 1890 plus or minus somewhat. Heacock named the pattern Windemere's Fan. The decoration is common to several of Buckeye's lines. Buckeye is another of the companies that would benefit by the publication of information about it.
