brought it today from thrift shop in NY
Wood Looks old enough, slight damaged, had a cardboard back board probably acidic. I remove it right after I paid for it.

    I think it’s signed with 1921

This one looks better than the Gorbitz you posted. You seem to be interested in paintings, and have a good hunting ground. I would recommend the following book which provides a good explanation of the physical characteristics of paintings, which can be helpful in dating:

Seeing Through Paintings: Physical Examination in Art Historical Studies. by Andrea Kirsh and Rustin Levenson. Yale University Press, 2002.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

I did what I do......tried to isolate, enlarge, sharpen, contrast, etc., which came up with below image.......looks like it's showing N. Dendy Sadler, and I THINK (NOT positive!) I see ) 06 for a date....but it gets darker after the last name and couldn't lighten it.....also in the second little contrasted rectangle I see what I think looks like a tiny "18t" maybe, and it may also be nothing relevant either......

@Brian Warshaw I do see what you mean....my changing the contrast/colors did make the #s look different, so you may be right!! It looks more like the '06' in the darker image below where I was only concentrating on the strange tiny number I hi-lighted, just above the yellow rectangle!!!

1906 would be even older, nice work.
