Is this 1966 painting by Carlos Montes/Montesi ?

    Is this a painting by Carlos or Carlo Montes (or Montesi?)
    I've found both names
    I may have paid to quickly, but I paid $100 for it today!

    It's clearly not the work of Carlo Montesi who appears to have specialized in Italian landscapes and Carlos Montes de Oca wasn't born until 1968.

    Aaagggghh! I was in the thrift store early while they unloaded trucks so when I googled painting signed montes '66 and saw a couple of prices I just bought it! Damn it!

    I have had good luck just listing stuff like that as “Mid Century”, a lot of people are looking for decorator pieces from that era.
