Featured Inuit Whalebone Bear - help with signature?

A recent acquisition at auction, with no provenance. 9 1/2" long x 4 1/8" high. A fine grained whalebone, with a smooth finish. On the bottom of the hind feet, I can make out "TAYLOR", and there are a few more marks near the toes. On the bottom of the front feet there are more letters which I can't quite make out. Does anyone know about Taylor, or can make out the other letters?

Yeah, whalebone is not the best surface for signatures.

 

There is a Derrald Taylor but I agree that it might be Alaskan

 

I looked up Derrald Taylor. He seems to work more in stone than bone, and is from the Northwest Territories. So if the other letters indicate Alaska it must be another Taylor. It is just nice to have the piece signed. I think many such carvings were identified only with string tags that have long since gone missing.

I like the bear's pose. Almost like it is sniffing something or checking something out. It's a handsome piece.
