Picked up this little set at an estate sale. Would anyone know where in the world this came from? Looks a little more refined then Mexican pottery. The previous owner has Coffee and rice written in the round pots and Fish on the bottom of the handle bowl.

Sorry, I don't know, but I think it is really cute.
I would think Mexican, maybe a little higher up the scale than you are used to? @April07, do you have any idea?

This is actually a traditional palayukan (pottery) palayok (cooking pot) set, from the Philippines. They come in all sizes, from large ones which can actually be used, to small doll house souvenir sets.

They're called "palayok" - clay pots from the Philippines. These are the classic shapes which are now difficult to find. Some places where they used to be sold in Manila was by Antipolo not too far from the "Our Lady of Good Voyage" church and in Sta. Cruz, by the bridge. The tall pot is usually used to cook rice, the squat one for soups, the one with a handle is used to fry things, the last one is a wood-burning stove. They come in all sizes. The ones you purchased look like toy sized pottery. There are full sized ones with the same capacities as your run of the mill metal cookware sets here in the States (3qt., 5 qt., 12" frying pan). They impart a distinct abd very pleasant earthy scent to food cooked in them.
